Sound Proof, formely know as LG Dee Rock, as been on the Hip Hop seen as one of the first mc’s of Montreal. His voice and energy as spread throught many project in the inner city parts of Montreal and also producing musical, sporting and cultural events.
He worked with such DJ’s as Run, 007, JamRick (Muzion) and Bass (Bassmint records). Dj Bass, LG, longtime friend Dice B and the future host of Rap City on Musicplus, Kc lmnop worked on a project of the first Hip Hop Float for 1991 Montreal Carnaval parade Cari Fiesta.
LG’s performances opened doors of opportunities. And the chance to be recognized by International Hip Hop artists such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (Will Smith), Maestro Fresh West, Public Enemy, Rakim. The list goes on. He as been doing radio host and dj for the last ten years in Canada and the US.
While in Florida, he felt compelled to change his name from LG to Sound Proof as a result of everything that he had lived through, seen and heard. With that in mind, he and his long time music associate, K-Why made 3 albums; La Mixtape volume 1, 2 and 3 got rave reviews from Hip Hop scene to Nitelife magazine. Also, introducing a series of up-coming artists such as WHY US.
He even had the chance to interview Grand Master Melle Mel (The Message) on the Hip Hop culture and exchanging with Harry Belafonte on his prodution of one of the first Hip Hop Movie, Beat Street. And also exchange with Bobby Brown on the legacy he has given with his New Edition group.
Sound Proof led the field of urban radio show by doing the only morning urban show, Urbanwayz (dans le traffic) on 102.3 www.radiocentreville.com in Montreal every Friday 8 AM.
